The Republic of Ghana is situated on the
West coast of Africa. It is a fascinating country that offers an excellent
‘taste’ of Africa.
Ghana has a huge amount to offer tourists.
Its rich cultural heritage makes it a stimulating destination. There
are endless miles of unspoilt coastline to discover, beautiful palm-lined
beaches and picturesque fishing villages with brightly painted boats.
The string of coastal forts and castles provide an opportunity to learn
more about the disturbing history of the slave trade. For those interested
in nature there is plenty to do. There is the rich biodiversity of the
rainforests to explore, such as Kakum, Ankasa and the Cape Three Points
Forest Reserve, the unique experience of a walking safari to see elephants
at Mole National Park, or a visit to one of the eco-tourism sites, such
as the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary. The capital, Accra, is a modern
city, vibrant and bustling with a wide selection of restaurants and
bars.
Tourism in Ghana is developing fast which
means it is the ideal time to visit. Tourism is still a reasonably new
concept and the country is unspoilt. We passionately believe that tourism
can have a positive impact on Ghana.
In our experience, having travelled extensively
in Africa, we have found few places that rival Ghana in terms of the
hospitality we have received from Ghanaians throughout the country.
Ghanaians are famous for their warmth and hospitality and rightly so.
We have found Ghanaians to be phenomenally friendly and as a result
we feel it is one of the safest countries to be in as a foreigner in
Africa.
