Beach Bar
Our funky beach bar is the sociable heart of the lodge. The building is a large, open-air, bamboo strucutre and the bar itself is made from an old fishing boat from the local village. Green Turtle has something for everyone: The bar is the perfect venue for a party. Green Turtle is an ideal place to come with a group of friends and hang out and celebrate. After cocktails and beers, we often move the party onto the beach around a bonfire. Green Turtle is also the perfect place for single travellers to meet other like-minded guests. Sit yourself on a bar stool (made from the original seats from inside the fishing boat!) with a cocktail in hand and chat to staff or other guests. Alternatively, if seclusion and serenity is what you are looking for, then Green Turtle is the place to come. If you want to 'get away from it all,' take a stroll down the 5km of empty, palm-lined, tropical beach. Our beachfront summer huts provide a more intimate dining experience and a very romantic setting. In fact, three people have proposed to their partner whilst staying with us and five couples have used Green Turtle as a wedding venue. Beachfront hammocks are a perfect place to relax with a book or simply lie back and watch the ocean. If topping up your tan is a priority, then lie back and relax on our gorgeous, deserted, hassle-free beach. We have a book swap and a selection of beach and board games. Test your knowledge at Trivial Pursuit or, if you are feeling more energetic, take out a Frisbee or hire a body-board and brave the waves. On return to the bar, refresh yourself with freshly squeezed fruit juice or maybe you would prefer a cocktail. Try the favourite ‘Green Turtle’ or a 'Black Star' made with fresh pineapple juice. Our cocktails are very popular – especially in Happy Hour!

Restaurant
Our open-air, beachfront restaurant specialises
in seafood dishes, is inspired by Ghanaian cuisine and takes advantage
of the diversity of fresh, local ingredients. We take pride in our menu
and have made a special effort to produce interesting and more unusual
dishes alongside Ghanaian favourites. Our specialities include Coconut
Fish Curry made with fresh coconuts harvested from our own trees, Bar-b-queued
Barracuda served with Mango and Avocado Salsa and Traditional Jollof
Rice with Chicken. We also keep pigs, not only to reduce kitchen waste but to provide the restaurant with tasty, free-range meat! We have our own traditionally built clay oven in
which we bake all our own bread and a specially built wood-fired pizza oven. Our stone-baked pizzas are a great weekend treat!

Start your day with French Toast served
with banana and local honey accompanied by a pot of freshly brewed cafetière
coffee. Travellers in Ghana are often overjoyed to find 'real coffee' for the first time when they arrive at Green Turtle. We have a No Nescafe policy! As a result, our coffee bar is extremely popular. Treat yourself to a Fish Caldine or snack on Guacamole and
Plantain Chips and a Spicy Papaye Salad. Those people missing a bit
of home cooking can enjoy our Bangers and Mash or pasta dishes. We also
ensure we cater for vegetarians with options such as Homemade Satay
Sauce or Sweet and Sour Vegetables.

We pride ourselves on the freshness
of our ingredients. Our fish couldn’t be fresher: the local fisherman
call to us from their dugout canoe, holding up the day’s catch
for us to see from the beach. Then someone from Green Turtle (staff
or occasionally even a guest) will then swim out to the canoe and return
clutching the fish. The fish is then prepared and served that evening.
Now that is fresh! And it’s more fun than going to the supermarket
too!
